Fionna Carlisle was born in Wick and studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1972 to 1976. She has earned an international reputation and has travelled widely, painting in China, the United States and Europe. Carlisle now divides her time between Scotland and Crete, where she has had a studio since the early 1980s.
